Game Journalism Day 5 - WALK THROUGH

To start The Long Dark is a challenging and immersive survival game that is very unforgiving in the sense that one wrong turn,decision or even step could be the end of your run trough of the game.

First off I would suggest looting anything that is either fuel for fire,food,water,clothing and weaponry/tools

The objective of this particular challenge is to 

"Recover the Distress Pistol from the summit of Timberwolf Mountain. Fire it from the top of the Desolation Point Lighthouse"

After looting the starting area I suggest that once you exit the house head straight as eventually you will come to a set of train tracks

Here there is some corpse's that can be looted as well as a dead deer that can be harvested for meat. While you could you use the meat to eat I suggest you stick with just the stuff you find as taking time to cook the meat is wasting the games daylight and plus meat can be used as a distraction for bears and wolves.

After you visited the derailed train head down the end of the tracks that have the deer body 

If your character is in severe risk of hypothermia make a fire by picking up some sticks and using the fuel you looted earlier on.

Keep heading down the tracks until you see a concrete structure that closed of by a chain link fence.

This is the dam and it will lead you to Pleasant Valley where there is a bit of a jump in terms of the games difficultly as now there will be more bears/wolves roaming around as well as the weather conditions will start to become more dangerous to go out in.

Once in the dam you should either find or place your bedroll down and rest.

Just a little thing I wanted to add to this was when I was wondering trough the dam and found a little bug by walking trough a exit door 

Anyway after leaving the dam head down the path and stick to the right side of the path until reach a cave entrance that looks like this 

Enter trough the cave entrance and find your way out the other side make sure you have some sort of light source to find your way out.

Once out try to find a radio tower and rest there 

This is the furthest I got within the hour we had to play and document our run trough the game.

Game Journalism Day 3 - TACKLE

Question 1---7days

To make fishing tackle you will need one piece of scrap metal and cured gut to make the line and hook

To make cured gut you will need to harvest gut from a animal corpse and leave it on the ground for 5 in game days 

To make the hook all you need to do is go to a workbench with the scrap metal and create a hook 

After you've done that you must create the tackle and then go find a fishing hut 

Once you've managed to find a fishing hut break the ice hole with a pry bar,hatchet or knife and there you go that's all you have to do to fish 

Question 2---I restarted because of the area that I was at didn't have any ice fishing huts around it. I started the game and ran towards the lake because I knew everything I needed to make fish tackle was there.
